Retexturing: Settings
This guide will help you get the best results when retexturing your 3D assets with Sortium. Follow these tips to ensure your textures are consistent, high-quality, and visually stunning. We'll cover key tips for adjusting settings and leveraging Sortium's features.
Settings for Texture Generation
Influence
- What it does: Controls how closely the texture generation follows your prompt.
- Lower values: Allow for more creative freedom and interpretation of the prompt.
- Higher values: Make the texture generation stick closely to the prompt.
- Recommended values: 12 - 18
Conditioning
- What it does: Determines how strongly the AI sticks to the shapes and structure of your original textures.
- Lower values: Allow for more deviation from the original shapes and structures.
- Higher values: Ensure the texture closely follows the original shapes and structures.
- Recommended values: 0.6 - 0.8
Strength
- What it does: Adjusts how much the original texture influences the final result.
- Lower values: Result in textures that closely resemble the original Base Color texture.
- Higher values: Lead to textures with more creative results and variations in color and details.
- Recommended values:
- 0.01 - 0.4 for preserving the original texture
- 0.6 - 1.0 for more creative results
Base Asset
- What it does: Lets you start generating textures from the original asset without re-importing it each time.
Seeds
- What it does: Seeds are used to initialize the random number generator that influences the texture generation process.
- Auto Off: Locks the currently selected seed and prevents a random one from being selected. Using the same seed across different generation tasks will provide consistency across different iterations.
- Auto On: Randomly selects a seed for your generation task. Using a different seed will produce varied results, allowing for creative exploration and multiple texture outcomes.
- Recommended practice: Use specific seeds to recreate textures exactly or try different seeds to explore a range of possibilities.
Features
Prompt Style
- What it does: Helps you choose a specific style to guide texture generation. Make sure it aligns with your main prompt to avoid contradictions.
Reference Image
- What it does: Lets you upload reference images to provide additional visual guidance for the AI.
- Image Strength: Adjusts how much detail and color from the reference image influence the texture.
- Lower values: Result in less influence from the reference image.
- Higher values: Result in more influence from the reference image.
- Recommended values: 1.0 - 2.0
By following these best practices and guidelines, you can use Sortium's AI to create stunning, high-quality 3D textures and assets.
